When it was opened in 1999 the Centre soon established itself as a vibrant outreach from St. Mary’s Parish Church in the Centre of Hinckley. Following on from the original building on the site. (see image below left) which served the local community as it established itself from 1935 until the early 90’s.
The local Scout and Guides groups had their headquarters at the back of the site and as part of the re-development the land was sold and along with other grants and gifts the new Centre was built and opened in 2000 (below right).
From 2003 the Centre has been managed by Captain Syd Henderson (Church Army) who also runs the weekly All Age Worship at 3pm each Sunday which was established in January 2006.
The Community Centre can be hired for parties (any age with bar and catering available) parents and tots groups, a well established and popular Friday night youth club, older people’s lunch club as well as the uniformed organisations mentioned above.
A busy and well respected Community Centre serving the area of Tudor Road and beyond!
