Aims

The Centre was opened in 1999 by the Bishop of Leicester as part of St. Mary’s Parish Church, Hinckley’s outreach into the Community. St. Francis Mission Church was established in 1935 and served the area successfully as both Church and Community Hall for many years. The local Scout and Guide groups had their own building on the site. Using funding generated by the sale of land, personal monetary gifts and grants from charitable trusts the new Centre was built.
Captain Syd Henderson (Church Army Evangelist),
the Community Worker for St. Mary’s Hinckley manages the Centre and leads the weekly
Community Church All Age Service team.
The Community Centre can be hired for parties, training and events. Parent and tots groups use the facilities as well as the base for the Scout and Guide groups mentioned earlier. It also hosts an Open Youth Club called ‘Kool Klub’, which meets each Friday night with games, Internet, football and a portable
Skate Park acquired with local grants
A busy and popular Community Centre serving the area which includes Tudor Road and beyond!
